TRE® (Somatic Release)

Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) use the body’s natural tremor mechanism to release deep muscular tension and calm the nervous system. The practice helps discharge stored stress without needing to retell or analyze your story.

Each session supports your body in returning to balance through guided movement, grounding, and integration. Over time, TRE® helps reduce physical tension, improve sleep and focus, and restore a sense of ease and stability in daily life.

TRE® sessions are available for individuals as well as groups (including private group bookings).

When the body holds more than the mind can process

Stress, overwhelm, and long-term activation often settle into the body long before they show up in thoughts or emotions. You might notice tension that never fully releases, restlessness that comes out of nowhere, or a sense of being “on” even when you want to relax. These patterns are part of how the nervous system protects you, but they can become exhausting over time.

Somatic Release (TRE) offers a structured way for the body to unwind these patterns through a natural tremor reflex.

What somatic release means at Attune Somatics

This work focuses on the physiological side of healing. It helps your body discharge stored stress, soften chronic tension, and shift out of survival mode.

Somatic release is:

paced
guided
safe
non-cathartic
body-led, not forced
You remain in control of the process at all times.

Why people seek somatic release

Most clients come in wanting:

relief from tension they can’t stretch away
a calmer baseline
deeper rest
a way out of constant alertness
support for stress patterns their body has carried for years
something beyond talk therapy
a simple, structured somatic practice
TRE is often the missing piece when the body is holding more than the mind can manage alone.
